How to make ££ outside of school as a teacher
Even though I've worked as a teacher for the past 15 plus years, I've never held a full-time position in a school or college (in the UK - even though I worked in a university in France - does that count?).
I have worked, though, in schools on supply and as cover. But mostly when I've worked in teaching for other people I've worked for local councils and institutions outside of the compulsory sector.
I decided that working in a school wasn't for me.
I then decided that working for someone else wasn't for me either. :)
So I took a less trodden path and started working for myself. It has different stresses associate with it, but essentially like all teaching, it's not easy.
But I've found ways to increase my income, without the burnout and the overwhelm that I had when I worked for my last institution.
The pressures for those of you who work in schools and public institutions is huge and I really do get that. Money is in short supply, and I know a lot of you would like to find other ways to make a living. Doing something that you love.
Just like I do, to be honest.
