High quality resources
In this post I am going to talk about the importance of higher quality resources
Again, this may seem a little obvious but I don’t think it is a straightforward as it seems.
Designing and writing a course that is stimulating and relevant and that makes learning fun is a key ingredient to the success of your business. However, it can also put your business at risk in that it is extremely time consuming.
I made the conscious choice to run fewer classes and to prioritise writing my own materials rather than running more groups and risking losing learners.
However, this isn’t the right move for everyone. If you want to teach more groups but not compromise the quality of your lessons then it is worth spending time and money researching sources that can provide you with the types of resources you want to use.
This is one of the reasons why Grab and Go was set up.
I found materials in books and on the internet which were nearly right for adult learners, but not quite. I felt that I would have to compromise if I was always using other people’s ideas and materials.
So I started writing my own resources and now I have made these available for you to subscribe to. These are the result of lots of time and effort and all have been road tested in classes.
One thing I found that was missing was authentic audio to go with our resources. So I added it!
Conti tells us to use our own voice in class and that is so empowering and has enabled us to massively increase the amount of listening we do in class. Complementing this with the chance to give your learners access to native speaker resources that they can use at home is a perfect mix.
If you would like to join our newsletter please subscribe here and if you want to join our Resource Centre which is has well over 1000 pages of worksheets and over 50 audios recorded by native speakers please join here.
Don’t forget that enthusiasm is infectious and if you are enthusiastic and passionate about what you are doing then your learners will be too.
